Play well

I played with Lego and so did my children. I'm sure their children will too. It's a toy that has a place in every family home. Today, 30 years later, it sits comfortably alongside the XBox or Wii but requires imagination to make work.

Queen of Lincoln Road

You can't help but be inspired by this woman. Created by Eric Smith this award winning short film documents ten years of the stylish life of Miami resident Irene Williams. A remarkable and colourful woman and someone you'd love to have as your neigbour.

Wisdom

Hard work, dedication and experience must count for something. In Malcolm Gladwell's recent book 'Outliers' he outlines his 10,000 hour rule, which he proposes is the amount of time it takes to 'shine'. That's three hours per day for ten years, practicing. The book concentrates on people who are 'so accomplished, so extraordinary and so outside of ordinary experience'. There is something we can all learn from these individuals. They have worked hard, they have achieved something and will inspire generations to come. Andrew Zuckerman's 'The Wisdom Project', is inspired by the idea that one of the greatest gifts one generation can pass to another is the wisdom it has gained from the experience and creates a record of a group of people who have all made their mark on the world. An amazing and inspiring film, the book is great too.
